There's just over two weeks until my cruise and I'm getting so excited!  This weekend I spent some time putting together the outfits I'll be wearing, so I wanted to share them with you like I've done with my past cruises.

Day 2: Boarding the ship

And that's it, all of the outfits I'm bringing on my cruise!  As you can see, I've opted for mostly workout clothes for our port days.  I figure they will be cooler and more functional for the hot weather we're supposed to have.  Besides, I've got the evenings to dress up and wear pretty dresses!

Like I said, I'm getting so excited and definitely counting down the days (18 days until I leave)!!

Recovering from an "off" weekend

We all have weekends that take us away from our health & fitness goals rather than getting us closer to achieving them.  Maybe you went out to eat a few times and indulged a bit too much or maybe you just didn't get your workouts in like you had planned.

For me, this past weekend was an "off" weekend because I didn't eat as healthy as I would have liked and I didn't get my workouts in.  I figure I've got two options...either I can let this unhealthy behavior continue or I can try to start fresh now that a new week has started.  If you haven't already guessed it, I'm choosing to start fresh.

Here are the ways that I am going to get back on track and make up for my less than perfect weekend:
  • Extra water - I am going to make it a point to drink even more water than usual in order to get my body back on track and hopefully flush out any junk that's leftover in my system from eating some crappy foods.  One great option is making a pitcher of detox water with lemon, cucumber, and mint.
  • Extra sleep - in order to get my body back in line I am going to focus on getting even more sleep than usual.  I definitely think my body needs some extra time to re-set itself.
  • Extra movement - it definitely wouldn't hurt to add in a few extra minutes of activity every day this week to try and counteract the workouts you missed over the weekend!
  • Extra healthy food - I've heard it said that for however many days you are "off" you need to follow up with eating extra healthy for that many days afterwards.  So if you took a long weekend of eating junk food, spend at least the next 3 days trying to eat as clean as possible.

These might seem like fairly obvious ideas on how to get back on track, but I wanted to give them to you just in case you're feeling a little gross from this weekend and were wondering how to get back to feeling healthier.

I hope these tips were helpful!  On a side note, I have realized that my posts may have been a bit monotonous lately, so I'm going to try to mix it up and add in some new content to keep things interesting.

I am going to try to liven up my Monday posts so that they give you some type of information or helpful tips on living a healthier and happier life.  I'm also going to start a new series that I'm going to call "Keepin' It Real" where I'll be posting every Wednesday about topics that deserve to be discussed (such as self-sabotage and fear of failure).  And then on Friday evenings I'm going to share a weekly recipe with you.

If you have any ideas or requests for posts, please share in the comments below!
