Tone It Up Progress: 1 Month

It seems like forever since I've posted on here!  I can't believe so much time passed by without me making any posts, but life happened and now I'm back!

It's been awhile since I've posted anything Tone It Up related, so I wanted to check in and let you know that I successfully lost 10 pounds in my first 5 weeks on the plan.  I was super happy with my results because I had been hoping to lose about 2 pounds a week and was proud that I was able to keep up with that pace.  So if you're thinking about buying the plan or starting with Tone It Up, just know that it does work if you put in the effort.

I was successful in my first 5 weeks because I did my best to follow the Bikini Series workout schedule by working out for 60-90 minutes a day.  I also stuck to the nutrition plan 99% of the time.  I just started the 7th week of the nutrition plan today and it's a bit of a re-start after being on vacation and falling off the wagon for almost two weeks.  I did gain back some of the weight I lost in the first 5 weeks of the plan, but now I am ready to jump back in and get back on track!

My plan is to follow the posted workout schedules on ToneItUp.com for the month of July and then starting in August I will follow the 8 weeks of the Bikini Series until my cruise at the end of September.  I started with Tone It Up mid-way through the Bikini Series, so I'd like to do the whole thing all the way through and also use it as a slim down in order to get bathing suit ready for my cruise.  It was encouraging to look back at the first few weeks of the Bikini Series workouts and see that they start off easier and then get progressively harder as you go along.  At least I know I can do the harder parts at the end, so the beginning shouldn't feel as rough!

I will check back in at the 2 month mark and let you know how things are going.  Let me know if you have any questions in the meanwhile and I'll try my best to help answer your questions.

Hey! I just read through your posts about the TIU Nutrition Plan. I have been researching the plan for MONTHS now and I was wondering if I could have some feedback on it. I am a fellow vegetarian and I wanted to know if the meals are easy to prepare and if the meals were filling enough throughout the day? I know some people think the plan doesn't include enough calories based on the workouts and I wanted to know if you agreed/disagreed? I really want to purchase the plan after reading some in-depth positive reviews, but I came across some not-so-positive ones as well and was looking for further feedback :) I'm also a senior in college and I'm on a budget--is it expensive to be on the plan? (i.e. are groceries expensive weekly/bi-weekly?)

Sorry for such a long comment, and thanks so much for your posts!

Hi Marissa!

I think the meals are very easy to prepare. The dinner (Meal 5) recipes typically make 3-4 servings so you have leftovers for a few days which helps you from having to cook dinner each night. I haven't been hungry between meals, so I feel like they fill me up enough to get through the day, even with the workouts. I haven't counted calories while on the plan, so I don't know how many calories I consume on the plan versus how many I burn on the workouts. The groceries can get expensive especially when you are trying lots of new recipes. My advice would be to go grocery shopping every few days so that you only buy produce that you can eat before it goes bad and don't have to throw anything away. That should save you some money!

I am happy with my purchase and I know that it's something I'll have the rest of my life, even if I get off it for awhile I will always be able to go back to it again. Even if you don't follow every single guideline, you'll still be living a healthier lifestyle, which is priceless. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be happy to help out in any way I can!

Thank you so much! :) Your feedback has been very helpful, and with your input plus my friend encouraging me to just go for it, I might just splurge before school starts and finally purchase the plan.

One more thing- Do you ever use the community aspect of the plan, and talk to other members? I feel like this might be helpful with encouragement and inspiration.

Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it!
I may have future questions.. but your posts have been a wonderful help!

I'm glad you've decided to go for it, I think you'll be very happy you did!

I use the community all the time! It might be the best part of purchasing the nutrition plan. Be sure to request access to the member's only portion once you've bought the plan. The girls in that group are super helpful and very supportive, which really helps when you need encouragement or advice.

Let me know how you're doing and if you need any help!
